Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is currently seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer. This is a hybrid role in Albuquerque, NM!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year.

As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training. In this role, you will:

  • Perform Short-Circuit, LV/MV Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash studies.
  • Perform field data collection to gather information on customer electrical distribution equipment needed to complete a variety of power system studies.
  • Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
  • Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency.
  • Run small to medium sized projects unassisted.
  • Mentor or lead other engineers
  • Provide customer training on arc flash and electrical safety.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • At least 3 years of experience in any of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
    • Performing field Power Quality Measurements
    • Performing Harmonic Analysis
    • Designing electrical distribution systems including modeling and mathematical calculations for load flow, voltage drop, power factor, fault, and grounding analyses.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • All candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed. No relocation is being offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Short-Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash study experience
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower software
  • PE License

Position Criteria:

  • A solid understanding of power distribution system equipment and design.
  • Ability to work around electrical equipment at industrial and commercial customer sites.
  • Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
  • Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company's safety program.
