Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior OPEX Engineer.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible to support the efforts to make the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) the primary continuous improvement program to identify, plan, and execute Operational Excellence initiatives by the Value stream engineers. This position support Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve process capability, reduce waste and eliminate defects. Achieve measurable improvements participating in multiple Lean / Continuous Improvement projects and working with tool and process owners providing support on the implementation of ECIS strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Support CI strategy and provides assistance to Lean tool and process owners (Value stream engineers and production associates) to develop and execute plans for continuous improvement in support of the Plant's ECIS strategies.

• Coach, facilitate and support the tool and process owners during continuous Improvement Events such as Kaizen events, Six Sigma Projects for improving on time delivery and productivity metrics while reducing cost, inventory and lead time.
• Contributes to the identification of cost-out projects, keeping a healthy project deck in terms of achieving Cost-Out Plant's goals.
• Conduct training and provides support to individuals identified as ECIS tool owners. Provides Lean and CI training as required to drive overall CI Culture.
• Influencing other functional areas to ensure CI is deployed.
• Obtain and provides support from corporate and packaging suppliers in the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing according to the regulations and corporate guidelines for branding and packaging designs.
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials (including palletizing) and processes providing creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
• Identify, coordinate and implement cost savings related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechanical, or similar degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of three years' experience in Lean Manufacturing systems and in-process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization in English and Spanish.
• Computer skills and the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Auto CAD and Power bi are a necessity. #LI-AR7
