Senior Firmware Engineer

What you'll do:

This individual will be responsible for embedded firmware design, development, testing, implementation, and maintaining for energy storage and battery management system products and platforms.

• Design, develop, validate and implement firmware for Super Capacitor module and related devices.
• Generate technical requirements and reports for firmware and hardware based on system requirements.
• Initiate and lead code reviews and technical discussion including brainstorming.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware/firmware integration issues.
• Plans and performs firmware development and validation on HIL and lab.
• Firmware and hardware produt life cycle management and post sale customer technical support.

• M.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in firmware/hardware development
• Strong skills in embedded firmware system architecture and programming (C, C++, Python) in different IDEs.
• Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M), DSP and standard peripherals.
• Experience with real time operating systems (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc).
• Experience with various bus protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet, Modbus).
• Experience with firmware/software cybersecurity (BlackDuck).
• Familiarity with development tools such as compilers and debuggers.
• Experience the version control tools like Git & Github.
• Experience with agile framework and the JIRA tool.
• Familiarity with documentation tools like Confluence.
• Familiarity with Rest API's.
• Knowledge of power electronics hardware schematics. Schematic capture using Altium and PCB generation desired.
• Knowledge in MCU + periphery circuit board development and debugging Board-bring up of the PCB board.
• Ability to work independently, collaborating asynchronously with global cross-functional teams, across multiple time zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
