Senior Engineer - Product Verification & Validation

If you desire to be part of something special, to be part of a winning team, to be part of a fun team - winning is fun. We are looking Sr. Engineer QA in Eaton's PMCC ICA business, based in Pune, India.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as QA lead within a Scrum team, driving testing standards and process alignment.
2. Define acceptance criteria for user stories and validate functionality through structured testing.
3. Build and maintain a repository of system-level tests for end-to-end and regression coverage.
4. Identify manual test cases suitable for automation and prioritize implementation.
5. Execute manual and automated tests; report results to stakeholders with actionable insights.
6. Design and run risk-based test campaigns to ensure release readiness.
7. Log and track defects using ticketing tools; collaborate with development teams for resolution.
8. Present validated features and test outcomes during sprint demos and reviews
9. Develop V&V plans aligned with product requirements and applicable standards.
10. Define and execute tests for functionality, performance, reliability, and environmental compliance
11. Conduct V&V on prototypes and production units, ensuring accurate data capture and analysis.
12. Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases; ensure full validation before release.
13. Design and integrate automated test setups where applicable.
14. Utilize LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent platforms for data acquisition and analysis.
15. Create simulation environments and test benches to replicate operational conditions.
16. Prepare detailed test protocols, execution logs, and compliance documentation.
17. Support audits and regulatory submissions with complete and accurate documentation.
18. Continuously improve V&V workflows, tools, and documentation practices
19. Ensure testing activities align with ISO, IEC, UL, and internal quality systems.

Qualifications:

Education Background -

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in V&V of PLC and HMI-based products or industrial automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming and testing tools
  • Strong understanding of control systems, industrial protocols, and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Skills required:

  • Test Strategy: Develop V&V plans for PLCs covering functional, integration, and system-level testing.
  • PLC Validation: Test ladder logic, I/O configs, communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus), and safety interlocks
  • Automation & Tools: Build test benches using RSLogix, TIA Portal, Codesys; automate where applicable.
  • Traceability: Link requirements to test cases; maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose failures, drive root cause analysis, and corrective actions with design/firmware teams.
  • HMI Testing: Validate UI logic, alarms, trends, and HMI-PLC communication (OPC UA, MQTT)
  • Compliance: Align with IEC 61131, ISO 13849, UL, CE; support certification and audits
  • Reporting: Document test protocols, logs, deviations, and improvement actions
  • Process Improvement: Optimize V&V workflows; mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams; contribute to design reviews and FMEA
  • Legacy Support: Validate updates to legacy PLCs; ensure compatibility and documentation accuracy.
