What you'll do:
This position will be responsibile for interpreting detailed product customer requirements of non-standard ATS products and translate them into final design package for smoother manufacturing execution. Act as a liason with sales and/or the end customers or consulting engineers as required to ensure accurate interpretation of the intent of the specifications. Interpret detailed written descriptions of 3D mechanical assemblies, mechanical designs, sheet metal enclosures, operating sequences and convert them to mechanical assembly drawings/manufacturing instructions for the ATS product line. Cross collabration with other product lines for products integration. Responsible for a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of mechanical engineering knowledge and development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to RDE portfolio.

1. Understanding working principles of various LV equipment, Automatic transfer switches (ATS), Circuit breaker, contactors, transformer, switches etc.
2. Hands on experience in Mechanism design and sheet metal parts Should have Hands-on experience on mechanical (sheet metal) 3D assembly.
3. Experience in LV control panel .
4. Familiar with UL standards.
5. Should able to create Mechanical part suitable for assembly and release in system.
6. Should understand Co-ordination of bus bas bar and panel structures.
7. Engineering process understandings.
8. Should have good understanding of DFMA (Design for manufacturability & assembly), utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs
9. Proficient in CAD tools such as Pro/E Creo, Solid works, Inventor, and AutoCAD, assembly, detailing to prepare CAD models and complete detailed design/drawings
10. Understanding of Enovia system (3D Experience Platform) for documentation control and workflow to release the drawings/ CAD Models
11. Understanding of UL 1008, NEMA standards. Knowledge of GD & T, Tolerance stack up analysis.
12. Proficiency in understanding customer requirements, preparing the general arrangement drawing, component selection and calculations, mechanical changes, BOM for given customer requirement.
13. Can independently work on ATS product offerings with less supervision.
Qualifications:
BE / M Tech- Mechanical Engineering
8+ yrs in Low voltage electro-mechanical product designs
Mechanical Engineering
1. Knowledge of the interaction between electrical switching systems, and surrounding systems such as the utility power grid, motors, and generators/backup systems.
2. Sound knowledge on mechanical designing of busbar layouts, routings, feeding systems as per needs of customers.
3. Interface with design department of ATS product line when necessary for development of new products, sustaining improvements to maintain the product line. Support plant quality initiatives
4. Experience with process improvements toolsets into a highly engineered environment (could include: Lean, Six Sigma, Root cause analysis, etc.).
5. Identify automations / digitalization / process improvements for improving productivity & quality goals
6. Prepare process guidelines / work documents for COE related work and standardize it globally
7. Ability to review work packages of other COE's for accuracy of BOMs/Drawings/Schematics/Instructions
8. Train junior engineers on the products and COE process with a consideration to the manufacturing process and customer/regulatory requirements.
9. Ability to interpret electrical schematics/drawings, etc. and co-ordinate with electrical COE for all designs.
