What you'll do:
" Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC), Pune is seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to design, develop, testing and maintenance of electronic hardware of circuit breaker trip unit, sensing hardware and meters. Responsibilities include new product development, supporting the resolution of field / production issues, feature / performance enhancements to improve existing products, validating changes in design or manufacturing, validating cost reductions and addressing application issues.
The Senior Hardware Engineer will be a key contributor in the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware for circuit protection devices such as breakers, trip units, and meters. This role supports new product development, product enhancements, and resolution of field issues. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, innovative, and compliant hardware solutions. The position also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical reviews and process improvements."

"Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop analog and digital hardware for circuit protection devices including trip units, meters, and breakers.
• Execute product development from concept through commercialization, including schematic design, component selection, PCB layout review, and prototype validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, firmware, systems) to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Conduct simulations and analysis using tools like LTspice, PSpice, and ModelSim.
• Perform design verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and compliance testing.
• Support resolution of field and production issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with global standards such as UL, IEC, and NEC.
• Contribute to technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Drive continuous improvement in hardware development processes and tools."
Qualifications:
B.E. / M.E / Mtech Electronics / E&TC
5-7 years in electronic hardware design, preferably in power distribution or industrial automation domains
Skills:
"- Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design including op-amps, filters, power supplies, and microcontroller-based systems.
- Proficiency in high-speed and mixed-signal design, PCB layout principles, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as RS232, SPI, I2C, Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice), schematic capture, and PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD).
- Experience in hardware validation, physical layer testing, and troubleshooting.
Understanding of power systems concepts such as VA, power factor, and efficiency."
