The expected annual salary range for this role is $82500.03 - $121000.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
Eaton's Engineering Service & Systems Division is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team.
The Switchgear Modernization division of EESS designs and manufactures custom solutions that allow for the modernization of both LV and MV equipment. The Retrofill Design Engineer will be required to evaluate the existing equipment, design custom fabricated materials for the new Eaton product offering, and support the local field personnel with the successful completion of the retrofill project. In this role, you will:
• Understand and follow prescribed EESS safety policies, pertaining to shop and field environments
• Travel to customer sites to collect field measurements of customer's existing equipment
• Use CAD to create a custom design solutions to apply Eaton Power Components into vintage switchgear
• Generate bills of materials submittal drawings, and assembly drawings
• Work with Electrical Engineer to solve customer control issues & requirements
• Receive, inspect, assemble, and produce final solution
• Occasionally travel to job site to supervise installation of final solution
• Assist in application of solution and generation of quotes
• Attend product training to maintain a high level of product knowledge
• Participate and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution.
• Must be able to work in the US without corporate sponsorship now or in the future
• No relocation offered, candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in engineering
• Experience with low voltage and medium voltage breakers across all manufactures of power distribution equipment
• Prior experience in electrical engineering services

• Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policy
• This position requires you to drive an Eaton vehicle
• Practices electrical safety measures
• Performs physically demanding tasks, requirement to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach above, to, and below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. Frequently required to climb and regularly required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to push/pull greater than 50 pounds with assistance. May be required to drive extended distances, work in extreme weather and temperature conditions, work at sites with areas that have poor lighting, ventilation, and dust and/or be exposed to high noise levels.
• Proficient with hand and power tools for equipment assembly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for success
• Willingness to learn basic controls theory and wiring practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be able to lead and manage upwards and downwards.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Must have training and/or experience working with AutoDesk Inventor, Pro-E, or Solidworks
