Job Summary
Execute material planning for purchased components in alignment with the production plan requirements. Utilize MRP to effectively communication schedules and purchase orders to suppliers, follow-up with suppliers daily, manage inventory levels to ensure consistent flow of materials, and provide daily updates to the production planning/master scheduling teams. Activities and tasks will range from strategic to tactical, requiring creative thinking, project management, and negotiation expertise.
Job Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for assisting the HR Manager with all activities to support the organization development, all Training initiatives and HR measurements in purpose of supporting substantial business growth as well as comply with the requirements by ISO/TS, OpA, Lean initiatives, 5's, STPS regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process and follow up purchase orders in a timely manner ensuring best quality, service, quantity, delivery and cost in accordance with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies.
- Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies in support of business growth.
- Drive commodity cost reduction activity.
- Research commodity sourcing opportunities for assigned products categories in order to leverage international/regional advantages and/ or Eaton's consolidated purchasing power. To conduct competitive biddings, negotiations and purchase agreements to sustain competitive position of supplies
- Implementation of supplier agreements and/or superior supply strategies (Consigned inventory, vendor-managed inventory, external safety stock, capacity allocations, form of delivery, etc.
- Execute material planning to procure raw materials through a consistent process reducing variation on the supply base.
- Accountable for inventory performance of set of suppliers/commodities to maintain balance of on time delivery and working capital performance.
- Utilize MRP to the fullest extent to ensure timely and accurate communication of supplier schedules and/or discrete purchase order releases.
- Manage the ramp up/ramp down of new productions in conjunction with the APQP process to ensure consistency of delivery and minimization of obsolete inventories
- Accountable for monitoring ERP health measures to ensure the consistent use of MRP in managing suppliers and schedules.
- Work closely with the Hydraulics Americas Central Materials Team to drive continuous improvement and consistency in item master and standard planning processes.
- Minimize all inbound/outbound premium freight (PFA)
- Complete root cause analysis on all supplier interruptions; develop robust improvement plans to ensure consistency of material flow.
- Support and work with other departments and/or functions to resolve materials issues.
- Review and adhere to establish processes.
- Propose continuous improvement initiatives both internal and external to the function, which drive efficient use of resources.
- Communicate forecast to suppliers (particularly with long lead time items) to ensure material flow in the supply chain.
- Follow escalation process to expedite materials and/or any other supply issue according to business needs.
- Participate and provide support in cost outs and continuous improvement projects.
- Support all activities related with accounts payable to ensure on time payment to suppliers and avoid accounts "credit hold".
- Maintain relationships with supplier base to ensure efficient and transparent flow of two-way communication.
- Identify, evaluate, approve and add new suppliers through Eaton source policies
- Price Increase Negotiation following SPIR process.
- Credit Term Negotiation following Eaton Policy. #LI-DG2
Qualifications:
Education level required
- Bachelor degree. Preferably in International Trade, Industrial Engineering or similar
Years and area of experience required
- 2 to 5 years of related professional experience in Purchasing (Desirable)
- Manufacturing industry backkground (Must)
Technical knowledgec
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), APICS-CPIM training/certification (desirable),MRP experience (MFG-Pro system desirable),experience in metal-mechanic material purchasing, commodity management, expertise in supplier agreements, price negotiation, cost saving projects management experience.
