What you'll do:

Eaton's Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Regional Category Manager, Directed Buy to join our team. This position can be based out of our Beachwood, OH or Southfield, MI locations with 25% travel required. Flexible work solutions from Beachwood, OH or Southfield, MI available.
Position Overview:
Within our supply chain, the Regional Category Manager, Directed Buy will support the development and deployment of the global category strategy for directed steel set by the RCM of fabrication for the North American region as well as support the stainless steel portfolio for Electrical Americas. Directed buy support will focus solely on Electrical Americas as well as a smaller focus on the vehicle group (VG). Regardless of business supported, the goal is to drive bottom-line cost management, business growth support, supply continuity, working capital improvements, and operational benefits. This RCM will support the sourcing strategies for approximately $40M of fabrication and steel spend to drive category performance towards optimal conditions (cost, commercial, working capital, quality, delivery, resiliency, and VAVE) by leveraging synergies across businesses and driving the "One Eaton" philosophy through collaboration with business stakeholders, operations and centers of excellence (ESSP, should cost, DMP, One Part, etc.). This RCM will be accountable for supplier relationship and performance across the category - supporting supplier negotiations, business reviews, and resolving all supply issues.

Job Responsibilities:
• Works closely with assigned category suppliers and Eaton manufacturing facilities to ensure that Eaton plants are supplied at all times at the most competitive price.
• Supports supplier contracts in accordance with NA business practices and EIIL contracting guidelines established by Office of Supply Chain Management.
• Ensures that key category metrics (cost out, resiliency, working capital, contracted spend, diversity, etc.) are driven to optimal conditions.
• Supports fabrication and steel sourcing strategies in alignment with One Eaton SCM, business, and category strategies for the North American region.
• Reviews economic and market trends to advise the business on optimal sourcing strategies and any changes to supplier lead times for assigned categories
• Maintains business relationship with suppliers and key stakeholders within Eaton.
• Ensures that high level of quality and delivery performance is maintained by suppliers and associated partners at all times.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required.
• 4 years of procurement experience required.
• No relocation is being offered for this role, candidates must be located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH or Southfield, MI.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Preferred qualifications:
• MBA preferred.
• Background in Carbon sheet steel, stampings and/or sheet metal fabrication category management is preferred.
• Clear understanding of sourcing process, fabrication & steel cost drivers and industry best purchasing practices.
