Job summary

Eaton's CPA Division is currently seeking an Engineering Supervisor. This position is based at our Bravos Juarez facility.
This position oversees day to day engineering activities and support to the switchboard and panelboard product lines. The Engineering supervisor is the primary lead for creating engineering drawings and BOMs. This role will help to evaluate assembly drawings per costumer specs and will lead the effort to standardize buss layout design across different plants

This is a unique opportunity to lead an Engineering team located in Bravos Juarez MX and work very close with Engineering teams in the US. This role will be the liaison between different plants to standardize assemblies across the P&S organization. This role will be accountable for leading the effort to improve Engineering process and drive more efficiency as we ramp up volumes of customer orders. In this role you will make assembly process improvements through collection and analysis of engineering data to increase safety, product quality, customer delivery and cost reductions. You will also provide information for training with production associates and meeting engineering standards. "

Job responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering team and assist management in direct oversight of department's daily activities.
• Develop a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.
• Support engineering function by providing direction to team members per Engineering spreadsheets, UL standards and NEC requirements
• Maintain and track order schedules and risks.
• Upgrade existing processes, deploy new initiatives, and recommend new solutions based on analysis and customer trends.
• Train and mentoring internal staff for greater customer satisfaction levels
• Supervise quality of assembly drawings, BOMs and components thru 3D modelling techniques, routings, and drawings.
• Experience creating and maintaining product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerance
• Recommend design changes and tooling.
• Participate in product process design/prototypes reviews. Evaluate and verify assemblies completed by peers.
• Implement, promote and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of zero accidents including prevention, investigation and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area and engineering processes.
• Promote company's mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton's ethics and values as well as quality policies.
• Experience working with remote teams to meeting customer expectations "

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Field

Years and area of experience required

• Minimum 3 years of design engineering experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role

Technical knowledge

• Experience with product lifecycle management system
• Strong experience working with excel and other programs
• Experience developing Bill of Material (raw material, manufactured, assemblies, groups)
• Experience creating general assembly, sub assembly, manufacturing, and detailed design drawings with Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs
• Experience working of design of switchboards
• 3 years of Inventor/Solidworks or other similar 3D modelling software experience
BOM/MRP experience
• Project management experience
• Fully bilingual English-Spanish (written and spoken)
• Must have the ability to travel to the US to attend meetings/Trainings

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently and within team environments
• Ability to work remotely with minimum supervision
• Knowledge and application of problem-solving tools and methodologies
• Proficiency with various computer software and applications such as Excel, Word, MS Project, and Outlook
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Time management skills and balancing simultaneous projects
• Ability to present information to others in a persuasive way, professionally and diplomatically assert the leadership role that the title project manager conveys
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an assignment and customer satisfaction
• Ability to apply project management methodologies and strategies to reduce potential non-conforming assemblies
• Capable of planning and executing presentations on specific products and services to internal and external customers to gain recognition and customer acceptance
• Knowledge on plant front-end scheduling, engineering, and manufacturing process and equipment cycle times
• Possess computer skills in Office 365
• Consistent demonstration of planning, leading, and communication results from executive changes
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and take initiative to solve problemss. "
