Quality Supervisor

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor. This position gives direction to Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality and Quality Inspection functions, as needed. This position provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of three Quality Engineers and one Repair Station Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105225.03 - $154330.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Quality supervisor will facilitate problem solving, ensure coordination and communication of corrective and preventive actions, and assist the quality manager in system development and maintenance. The Quality Supervisor is also responsible for driving supplier improvement in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

• Develop, implement, and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve supplier and internal quality and inspection objectives.
• Identify needs, and develop the Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering and Inspection functions as required.
• Select and develop competent Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Quality Inspectors to ensure quality goals are achieved.
• Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality.
• Drive customer, supplier and internal corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion.
• Support improvement performance of key suppliers by implementing process controls and develop quality assurance plans.
• In collaboration with the Site Quality Manager review, improve & standardize the daily activities and actions necessary to support the key functional initiatives which will drive the organization forward.
• Analyze key organizational metrics and recommend actions & plans to drive for improvements.
• Assure effective communication and reporting to customers and suppliers.
• Assure compliance with control phase of quality systems and initiatives such as internal auditing, statistical process control and testing.
• Provides Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing cells.
• Leads continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.
• Ensures quality organization support to Supply Chain Management organization relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data providing expertise and assists suppliers with product and process quality requirements.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory or management experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Quality experience working with quality systems.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of FAA/EASA Repair Station type environment experience
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Irvine, CA facility will be considered.
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applications must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of work experience in Quality function in the Aerospace industry
  • Experience working with Aerospace suppliers.
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control systems and techniques, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, including statistical quality control and inspection and investigation techniques.
