Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $23.20 per hour $2.50 per hour shift premium.

The core hours are 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What you'll do:

The Incoming Quality Inspector I role is dedicated to maintaining and upholding our facility's adherence to established quality standards and specifications. This position introduces the foundations of conducting thorough inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to identify any defects or deviations from external suppliers' quality standards. Additionally, the Quality Inspector I role is responsible for documenting and reporting inspection results, managing nonconforming materials, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues.

In this function, you will:
• Attend and participate in the daily Tier I Production meetings.
• Conduct quality containments of external supplier components related to quality issues detected for Warranty, customer complaints and scrap / rework internal impacts.
• Review and update the Incoming inspection list for all the parts in containment for external suppliers.
• Review and define inspections and containments priorities with the operations and materials teams daily.
• Participate and manage the Material Review Board.
• Provide and follow the disposition of rejected material and scrap resulting from containments.
• Perform inspections according with Work instructions provided by Quality engineers.
• Fill reports for containment results and share them with the team by email.
• Verify hold tags & create QNs for nonconforming material; assist in the disposition with the inspector team.
• Log inspection results into the computer for purposes of generating quality reports.
• Assist production personnel in specification and requirement interpretations.
• Assist supervision and follow-up with engineering in resolving design and quality issues.
• Work with material handlers to move material within, into, and out of inspection area.
• Attend and participate in problem solving activities as needed.
• Assist with SAP transactions (material movements).
• Perform Ease and Process audits as needed.
• Complete other duties as may be assigned to include production related tasks

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or quality role.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with basic measuring equipment.
  • Blueprint reading experience.

Skills:

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, SAP, etc.).
