Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The hourly rate for this position is $27.17 per hour.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for operating inspection and test equipment with the appropriate tools.
  • Responsible for completing all required inspection PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and test records.
  • Responsible for other related paperwork in accordance with procedures and specifications, calibration or equipment, documentation of non-conforming product, inspection of procured products.
  • Responsible for conducting first article inspection and communication with production or engineering to resolve problems.
  • Responsible for the correct transaction processing in SAP to receive goods from production Orders as from Purchase orders.
  • Provide training to others in similar operations.
  • Work under the direction of the department supervisor with minimal supervision or technical assistance.
  • Other various duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of six (6) months experience with mechanical/load testing on seismic components or related product.
  • A minimum of six (6) months experience with operating basic tools to measure parts.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Ability to use formulas to test products
  • Experience being exposed to inclement weather conditions during all seasons
  • Experience being exposed to exposed to oils, solvents, and detergents
  • Capable to read drawings and basic material specifications

Skills:

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Able to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
