What you'll do:
An exciting opportunity is available at our Sutton site for a Quality Inspector. This role will encompass all aspects of measuring, visual inspection and test necessary to meet compliance and company quality requirements. Working in the QI department, the incumbent will be responsible for processing all parts in QI through to booking out and recording of inspection status. It is the responsibility of the Quality Inspector to escalate any quality concerns appropriately.

Your main responsibilities will be:
• Inspection of all parts / products as stipulated on SAP.
• This includes but is not limited to: Measuring critical dimensions from drawings as defined by the Quality Team and by the Certification Manager for compliance to ISO/IEC 80079; Visual inspection; Component inspection of populated PCB's and testing.
• The incumbent will work under the instruction of the QI/Materials Team Leader to prioritise work in line with production demands; using SAP for booking & reporting inspection results.
• The team will liaise with Supply Chain & Quality for completion of non-conformance reports.
• Completing Sample Inspection Reports for new products from suppliers and from internal trials, you will relate results to Supply Chain, Quality and the Engineering teams as required.
• Administration of NCRs.
• Work to meet the KPIs and metrics for the area.
• Producing daily metric reports as required by the Group & Tech Lead.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities, 5S, health & safety, Lean and operational standards of excellence, at both an individual and department level.
• When required flex into various Warehouse roles.

The knowledge, skills & experience that we are looking for:
• Quality Assurance qualification (preferably MIQA) and proven experience in a similar role.
• A working knowledge of quality procedures, particularly ISO9001, and experience in processing and inspection of goods inwards.
• Knowledge of the use of measuring equipment, typically micrometers and calipers.
• Reading drawings and dealing with vendors to resolve product issues. Usage of SAP and updating Quality data base.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Computer literate (including Word & Excel).
• Understanding of hazardous area products (ISO/IEC 80079).
• Understanding of ISO 9001.
• Sample inspection measurements.
• Processing NCRs.
• Understanding of EHS requirements.
• Understanding of 5S+.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
