Eaton's AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer. This position is part of our Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division located in our Euclid, OH facility. The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for providing Quality support to Euclid's High Performance Work teams. The team is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly and testing of internally manufactured products. As part of supporting the team, you will be responsible for helping to determine root cause and corrective action for scrap or internal Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) increases. You will review and disposition nonconforming material, provide support to operators and inspectors and drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing cells, and may be responsible for representing customer interests relative to agreed upon quality requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work cross functionally with the members of the HPWT, product engineering, and customer quality to maintain business measurables.
  • Drive reduction of Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) and improvement in First Pass Yield (FPY) of manufactured products by implementing process improvements.
  • Review Engineering drawings and changes to ensure the changes are compliant with customer requirements and are properly implemented into manufacturing work instructions.
  • Own and maintain the Statistical Process Control (SPC) program and drive improvement based on SPC data. Perform analysis to determine process capability and trends of key characteristics, and preform review for any characteristics that fall below standards. In addition, train all operators and inspectors who use the SPC system.
  • Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to improve manufacturing processes to reduce Cost Of Non Conformance (CONC).
  • Position requires interaction with external customers and internal personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate and drive Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for existing and new products.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external product quality problems utilizing quality functional tools such as statistical and analytical tools, PFMEAs, and process capability studies.
  • Obtain customer and regulatory specific training and maintain customer and regulatory certifications to fully support product manufacturing and delivery.
  • Ensure all internal and external customer quality requirements are met by performing audits of the Certified Operator Program, Layered Process Audits (LPA) and internal audit program.
  • Work with customer, government and other regulatory representatives to interpret and reach agreement on Quality procedures, and acceptability of products and assure compliance with the specified customer and government requirements.
  • Respond to customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determination of permanent corrective actions, and implementation and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement projects such as 5s or RIEs to ensure Eaton's "High Five" metrics are achieved. These include Safety, TRCR, Quality CONC, OTD, DOH, and Flex Productivity

Qualifications:

Basic (Requried Qualifications)

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Engineering role or Supervisor role.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be a U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee or Refugee.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this postiion. Only candidates within a 50 mile radius of Euclid, OH will be considered. Active Duty Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Quality of Industrial Engineering role.
  • Working Knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation.
  • Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage.
  • 2 years of experience with SPC.
  • Prior experience in a AS9100 quality system.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt training.
  • Applied knowledge of the latest ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Technical knowledge

  • AS9100 manufacturing, customer quality representative (DSQR), FAA Designee, DCMA experience, Detailed knowledge of problem-solving techniques - Root Cause Analysis, 8D Corrective Action Process, and FMEA.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, efficiently and drive results.
  • Detail oriented and maintains detailed records.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Needs to effectively communicate the status of tasks, projects or hardware as the status or priorities change.
  • Must exhibit a high level of motivation, sense of urgency, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
