Production Scheduler

What you'll do:
Production Schedulers are primarily focused on converting the Master Schedule into an operational one-to-four-week schedule for a facility after aligning with the internal manufacturing capacity.
- Direct daily workflow (WIP - "work in process") through analysis of reports, input from cross-functional teams, and utilisation of critical ratio tools.
- Align and set priorities for resources and shared assets across the factory to maximise efficiency and ensure timely material flow for customer shipments.
- Collaborate with SCM planners to review daily parts/material status, establishing achievable dates to meet or exceed customer delivery requirements through effective planning or exchange offerings.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Purchasing, to ensure seamless coordination.
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures and techniques to enhance the scheduling function and drive continuous improvement.
- Create detailed production schedules that align with sales forecasts and customer demand, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal downtime.
- Utilise SAP to generate real-time schedules that reflect current production capacities and constraints.
- Review and assess incoming production orders for feasibility, identifying potential conflicts with existing schedules and resolving them proactively.
- Prioritise production orders based on urgency, customer requirements, and lead times, ensuring critical orders are expedited appropriately.
- Monitor missing parts and adjust production plans to meet customer needs and promised delivery dates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or supply chain.
Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of the industry, including management of complex machined materials, lean manufacturing processes, and proficiency with MRP/ERP systems- (SAP and Kinaxis)
- Outstanding communication skills across all organisational levels, including customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing
- Keen interest in working collaboratively, demonstrating a proactive approach and a strong drive to achieve tangible results
- Ability to swiftly analyse, identify, and implement improvement opportunities and corporate initiatives, delivering measurable impact on an annual basis
- Experience with change management is considered beneficial
