Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Plating.

The hours of this role are 6AM to 2PM

The hourly rate for this position is $22.50 per hour.

What you'll do:

Primary Functions:
• Review work order or schedule established by team leader
• Read and understand process sheet/blueprint
• Process parts through plating, passivation, dry film, or cleaning lines as required by process specifications (this may involve some fine manipulation/racking of the product, weighs approximately 10 pounds)

• Log all procedures as dictated by plating specifications in corresponding logbook including electroplating, passivation, pickling and dry film.
• Calculate surface area of parts to be plated or cleaned and apply current density according to the plating specifications
• Operate measuring devices, including micrometers, dial gauges, etc.
• Run product through processes using rack or barrels (cleaning, plating, passivation pickling) in accordance with plating specifications
• Perform weekly bath maintenance (including break-down, cleaning, and set-up of complete lines as well as chemical additions) as dictated by the maintenance schedule
• Complete pre-inspection report
• Perform rework
• Train peers/new employees on chemical cleaning, passivation, and pickling
• Setup fixtures, racks, barrels, and furnaces utilizing historical data/logs (done with support of team leader and lab technician)
• Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement framework
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Follow shop environmental and safety procedures, including PPE at all times
• Proficient in any style of Plating i.e., tin lead, silver, gold, and nickel to acquire a CPO stamp and/or proficiency in dry film
• Active member of hazardous response team
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in manufacturing processes
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate Beltsville area (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of one (1) Certified Plating Operator designation

Skills:

Position Criteria:
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute percentages, area, circumference, and volume; draw and interpret bar graphs
• Capability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists through communication and teamwork
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment, OSHA regulations, manufacturing methods, routings, and standards
• Ability to multitask
• Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Software
• You must be able to lift up to 35 pounds within any given day. The job could require standing on your feet anywhere from 8-10 hours a day. Will require focus evaluations from close proximity and frequent use of hand to eye coordination.
