Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Plant EHS Manager. This position is ONSITE M-F at our Arden, NC Eaton facility. Relocation assistance is available for candidates that live over 50 miles of Arden, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

This position provides environmental, health, safety and facility leadership to the site. Individual is accountable for directing EHS activities at site including establishing EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. Position is also responsible to maintain site ISO/OSHAS certification along with maintaining the of strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site.

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Culture Champion: Lead and champion projects that drive improvements in our "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program. Promote and embed a zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site.
  • Risk Assessment Facilitator: Conduct risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Collaborate with the leadership team to set targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
  • Cross-Functional Partner: Work with functional support and engineering teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to PROLaunch and MESH "Change Management" processes. Assist the Operational Excellence engineering team with building and grounds capital projects as needed.
  • Compliance Guardian: Maintain facility compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. Review environmental permits, ensure terms and conditions are understood and complied with, and maintain required documentation. Submit regulatory reports to respective agencies.
  • MESH Program Leader: Champion the MESH program and engage with the plant leadership team to drive MESH Champions' involvement. Develop and maintain all required written MESH and regulatory requirements, including HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LO/TO, and PPE Assessments.
  • Employee Engagement Driver: Enhance employee engagement through EHS sub-teams (ERT, Green Team, Safety Team). Partner with the OPEX team and Operations to drive the Continuous Improvement Framework, including CI For Everyone.
  • Safety Program Advocate: Actively partner with all plant personnel on safety programs such as Eyes Wide Open, Find It Fix It, and Safety Observations. Support the implementation of all required safety and environmental training for employees.
  • Security and Loss Control Coordinator: Oversee plant security and loss control efforts.
  • Performance Metrics Compiler: Compile required safety performance metric data for injury/illness logs and reporting to government agencies and Eaton performance metric databases.
  • Recognition Pursuer: Seek third-party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton's EHS program as world-class.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration or Management, Environmental Science from an accredited institution.
• Experience in electrical assemblies or engineered to order business.
• Experience managing people and/or teams.
• Professional certification (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).

Skills:

Position Criteria:
• Must be willing to travel 10%, domestically.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, develop employees and facilitate corrective action while fostering an environment that supports Eaton values & philosophy.
• Change agent with strategic focus and executive command
• Ability to direct and lead cross functional process improvement tams
• Thorough knowledge and training for EHS systems development and deployment
• Knowledge of Worker's Compensation.
• Computer Skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Demonstrated Knowledge of ISO standards, industry regulations / processes related to EHS (e.g. OSHA, ISO 14001, MESH, VPP, etc.)
