PCB Design Engineer

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a PCB Design Engineer at our location in Moon Township, PA. This is a hybrid role requiring three in-office days per week.

The PCB Design Engineer will work with the team to create product solutions using a combination of analog and digital electronic circuit designs in support of our intelligent/connected home product development programs. Duties include development of schematics and PCBA electronics hardware design, component selection, and product testing for applications and features in power management, communication (wireless and wired), intelligent data generation, remote control, diagnostics, and IoT functionality.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $63749.97 - $93499.96 a year.

What you'll do:

• Creates electronic schematics, PCBA layouts, PCB designs, BOMs, selects components to fit the project requirements and ensure functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Participate in the design of analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits using Eaton platform standards guidelines, industry best practices, regulatory agency compliance requirements and Design for Manufacturability input.
• Support electronic hardware development for smart, connected circuit protection devices through all project phases from requirements definition thru sustaining phases.
• Perform circuit simulation, analysis, and optimization to achieve desired performance metrics.
• Prototype and assemble hardware systems for testing and validation, including soldering and rework, as necessary.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of hardware designs, identifying, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve the overall quality and performance of hardware designs.
• Develop supporting engineering documentation including requirements, design documentation, and design verification test plans.
• Provides solutions and technical support to customers and sales team

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• An Associate degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year experience designing electrical/electronic products
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of facility will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in similar positions for electronic circuits design, PCBA hardware development
• Experience in product validation (shock and vibration, cycle testing, environmental testing).
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB) and PCB fabrication processes.
• Experience using agile/scrum/sprint hardware product development methodologies.

Skills:

• Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with PADS, Altium and CAD design tools.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
• Up to 10% travel may be required
