What you'll do:

Responsibilities include a broad range of administrative and organizational tasks for Eaton's Intellectual Property Team to ensure that IP services meet our business needs.
This role aids the Digital, Innovation, and Technology Special Practice Group in the protection of the Company's intellectual property rights related to multi-national activities and processes. The role involves supporting and improving the Law Function initiatives, processes, and tools.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, energetic critical thinker, analytical, skilled in driving process improvements who demonstrates the drive, business acumen, and people capability to deliver results within Eaton's global Law Team.

The working language of the Law Department is English. A high level of spoken and written English is a must, and any additional language skills would be an advantage.
The successful candidate must be a team player with strong communication skills. The candidate must be highly motivated, capable of achieving goals, getting excellent results, handling many tasks at once, and must adhere to the highest standards of business ethics.
Providing comprehensive administrative, paralegal and analytical services to the Law Department, including:
• Leading the support for patent attorneys by performing and overseeing various advanced administrative duties and tasks.
• Managing coordination and collaboration with attorneys, outside counsel, third parties for formalities & procedural matters, ensuring seamless communication and workflow.
• Ensuring timely filing of patent applications, preparing detailed statistics, deadline reports, and patent docket reports with a high level of accuracy, including but not limited to query resolution with OCs and others on prosecution.
• Participate in patent review meetings, help the businesses in capturing, entering and processing the critical IP filing decisions.
• Providing advanced administrative support to update the IP database and tools with restructuring information, contact details, and invoice reviews, while correcting database irregularities, implementing preventive solutions, and executing, participating in IP projects.
• Timely processing of all IP related communications including but not limited to managing patent mailbox, updating document management system, docketing, deadline handling, initiating workflows and keeping patent database up to date with the information such as status changes or filing particulars etc.
• Docketing invention disclosures and preparing confirmation emails to inventors and other relevant parties
• Creating new patent records, including PCT-, National Phase-, and EPC-validation records in the patent database, with a focus on accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree with good academic records
• 5 to 7+ years experience of working in the field of patents in a multinational environment, preferably with exposure to patent prosecution, IP Paralegal activities, and IP portfolio management processes/services

Skills:

• Extensive hands-on expertise with the Anaqua IP management system
• Strong working knowledge of patent prosecution procedures, e.g., all stages of patent prosecution, including rules, deadlines, maintenance etc.
• A practical understanding and working experience of the patent systems around the world especially USPTO, EPO, WIPO, etc. and a high degree of motivation to acquire the knowledge through internal training, online courses and on-the-job experience for other patent systems.
• Must be detail-oriented with a analytical skills, including a strong ability to work with IT tools, IP databases and Microsoft applications in particular advanced level of MS-Excel, PowerBi and PowerPoint.
• Capable of handling emails, independent correspondence and managing files efficiently
