Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operational Technologies Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in Cleveland, TN. We are offering relocation assistance to those who live within the U.S.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you'll do:

The Operational Technologies / Digital Factory Engineer will develop, lead and plan Manufacturing Engineering initiatives which will result in significant advancements in productivity, product cost, quality and/or the maintenance of the plant facilities equipment and its production process. S/he will perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique design applications.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration at the Cleveland, TN plant and manage project objectivities and timelines.
  • Develop approaches to solving problems in processes, tooling, equipment, facilities, and cost utilizing Industry 4.0 methodologies.
  • Develop Digital solutions for our current processes leveraging PowerApps and PowerBI
  • Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives.
  • Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the CPA site teams.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to automation and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of the technical, engineering and support talent.
  • Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities.
  • Establish and maintain project expense and capital expenditures with pre-established budgets and timelines.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with programming robotics, engineering OR automation projects with manufacturing process

Preferred qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
  • Lean, OpA or MESH subject matter expert/category champion
  • PowerApps, PowerBI
  • Robotics, Automation and Controls Experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and expert MS Office skills
  • Project Management experience with "Microsoft Project"

Skills:

  • Knowledge of electronic systems
  • Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics
  • Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
  • Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)
  • Ability to select and install PLC hardware and software
  • Ability to read & use wiring, connection, schematic, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot control systems
  • Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure
  • Knowledge/Experience with setup of Kepware OPC system (optional)
  • Knowledge or experience with electric safety devices (switches, fuses, breakers) Optional
  • Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders)
