Modelmaker Machinist

Eaton's ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking a Modelmaker Machinist at our location in Ellisville, MO. This position is responsible for supporting new product development and manufacturing by ensuring quality product testing is performed on a wide variety of overcurrent protection products and related devices.

The hourly rate for this position is $32.42 per hour and increases to $39.54 per hour after 6 months. The core hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm. Job relocation bonus offered for this role based on location.

This position is based in Ellisville, MO area. This position is responsible for supporting new product development and manufacturing by ensuring quality product testing is performed on a wide variety of overcurrent protection products and related devices.
Position Overview:

• Performs the full range of fabrication, modification, machining, and assembly operations in the Engineering Labs.
• Self-manages project details and order of operations to fabricate components, tools, dies, displays, and fixtures.
• Utilizes precision measuring instruments including caliper, micrometer, comparator, and video measurement equipment.
• Utilizes knowledge of basic electrical principles including Ohms Law.
• Utilizes electronic measuring instruments including ohmmeters, ammeters, and voltmeters.
• Utilizes high-level math skills, including trigonometry to determine machining strategies.
• Support testing programs and generate test reports for engineering and agency submittal.
• Skilled operation of tool room equipment including a mill, lathe, drill press, saws, and grinders.
• Proficient in computer operation in an MS Office environment.
• Programs and operate, PLCs, relays, NC, and other programmable machinery.
• Performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.
• Works from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
• Assembles devices using hand tools, solder iron, and hot plate

Qualifications:

Basic (Required):
• Machinist certificate or degree (24-credit hour minimum)
• Proficiency in MS Windows/Office-based computer systems is required.

Preferred:

• 2 years of hands-on electrical experience
• 2+ years of machinist experience
• Experience with programming, and operating PLCs, relays, and other programs.
• 10+ years of Machinist experience
• Experience with Bridgeport Mill
