Our Burton on the Wolds site has an exciting new opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly impactful team. The site hosts a product line that is responsible for fusing and switching solutions.
What you'll do:
- Leading design of new products, maintenance of existing products and VAVE cost saving projects
- Leading projects for the design of new switching products and maintenance of existing portfolio (3D modelling, engineering drawing and product assemblies)
- Directing engineers and support functions locally and internationally (Simulation, data management, technical support, product management...)
- Close working relationship with the manufacturing plant to ensure products can be produced and to provide technical support
- Responsibility that all supporting documentation is completed (FMEA, technical files, ECN)
- Developing testing plans to standards. Work with internal and external labs to execute
- Driving innovation and IP generation

Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree (electrical/mechanical/mechatronic)
- Previous experience in design/development of industrial products
Skills:
- 3D CAD (solidworks preferred)
- Project management
- Problem solving, team player, self motivated
