Manufacturing Test Engineer

Eaton's Power Reliability Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our manufacturing testing team! This position will be based on-site at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.

The Manufacturing Test Engineer will be responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing automation test systems for products such as medium voltage reclosers, fault interrupters, and switchgear. The Manufacturing Test Engineer will utilize problem-solving to develop solutions to small-medium complexity problems pertaining to product testing, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique design applications.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:

• Partner with test technicians and engineers to service malfunctioning test equipment with hands-on troubleshooting. Support will include LabVIEW troubleshooting and hardware troubleshooting for testing equipment with varying complexity.
• Partner with maintenance and technicians to support controls troubleshooting. PLC/HMI programming with various models across the plant.
• Support implementation of internally developed MES system for test equipment.
• Assist senior test engineers with guidelines for design and selection of testing equipment, testing protocols, test data collection programs and best practices. Testing types include but are not limited to: AC/DC Dielectric Withstand Test, TCC test, partial discharge test, and system/sub-system level functional testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, EHS, Quality, Third-Party Suppliers) for defining opportunities of improvement for test systems.
• Develop and execute small-medium projects using Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR)
• Support cross-functional root cause and failure analysis teams. Apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to optimize test systems for yield improvements, failure mode elimination, cycle time reduction, capacity planning, etc...
• Support planning for obsolete equipment replacements, spare parts inventory, and critical parts inventory to have on-hand.
• Participate in assessment processes within the manufacturing environment. May act as a category co-champion during an assessment process.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be authorized to work in The United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment..
• Working knowledge of LabVIEW.
• Working knowledge of reading schematics.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming with ladder logic.
