Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour.

This position is responsible for supporting the OPEX department in achieving business and financial goals by assisting in time studies and observations across the plant. Additional responsibility includes supporting Manufacturing & Facilities Engineers with projects/tasks consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements, all while having fun and making a difference at Eaton.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Conducting and documenting time studies on various manufacturing processes throughout the plant.
  2. Modifying work instructions, as needed, in collaboration with area ME and Quality team.
  3. Miscellaneous requests from Manufacturing Engineers to support the Manufacturing Engineering Department activities throughout the plant.
  4. Miscellaneous requests from Facilities Manager to support the plant in small, one-off projects related to facility's needs.
  5. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • ≥ 1 year working experience.
  • Attending college or technical college, working towards a degree or certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree from an accredited institution is desired.
  • ≥ 5 years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. time studies, 5S, Work instructions, visual controls, etc.
  • Exposure to problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
  • Proficiency in various software applications - i.e. SAP, MS Office suite.
  • Understanding of production environments (low-volume/high mix and high volume/low mix) including safety/guarding requirements.

Additional Information:

Experience in key processes that would be useful

  • Assembly experience
  • Welding
  • Fabrication processes: laser cutting and forming
  • E-Coat Paint Process
