Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This position is based at our Jackson, MS manufacturing facility.

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the manufacturing processes responsible for Machining Aerospace quality products, including components of hydraulic pumps, motors, motorpumps, and reservoirs. The Manufacturing Engineer performs engineering and manufacturing assignments focusing on process improvements related to machining.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and improve process plans for new and existing products
  • Conduct time studies to establish or verify standards
  • Design and develop tooling to support the manufacturing/machining of the product
  • Create and improve check/inspection sheet documentation for production processes
  • Utilize problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why's, DMAIC) to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Identify and execute cost out initiatives through productivity improvements
  • Support new product launches into production
  • Perform daily process checks to ensure compliance by technicians
  • Support Eaton continuous improvement initiatives such as Rapid Improvement Events, Standard Work Events, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S+
  • Create CNC programs using MasterCAM

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement new or modified manufacturing and methods in assigned area to reduce production costs and improve efficiency.
  • Investigate and analyze production methods, processes and operations to determine manufacturing modifications that will increase production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Review the design of product components and parts and recommend design changes that will facilitate product manufacturing, reduce costs, exploit the advantages of new materials, etc.
  • Observe and analyze high scrap or rework operation to determine causes. Advise concerned personnel of the results and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Compile pertinent cost, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, material handling, etc., to support new manufacturing methods or modification recommendations.
  • Prepare data package including layouts, equipment quotations, and written justifications for capital appropriation requests as required for process/efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee and coordinate production methods and modifications for production efficiency and cost control.
  • Conduct studies to prepare and recommend new and revised operating procedures to maintain control, improve operations, and facilitate processing.
  • Analyze, develop, recommend and justify tooling requirements for assigned lines. Approve the procurement implementation, and utilization of tools.
  • Prepare and submit manufacturing procedures and plans interfacing with customers on specialized jobs.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 60 mile radius of the Jackson, MS facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fixture design
  • Experience in developing Machining Processes.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and the creation of detailed drawings
  • Experience in a union environment
  • Familiarity with CNC G and M Code, and/or a CAM software.
  • Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others' decision making
