Eaton's EPG CPD PCD Power Components Division division is currently seeking a Manual Machinist.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $48750.03 - $71500.04 a year.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Manual Machinist will build new and repair all stamping dies, assembly fixtures, brazing fixtures, gages and hand tools. They will also guide hourly personnel on proper set-up of all tooling in the facility, work closely with engineers to fabricate prototypes for engineering evaluations, and assist with industrialization engineering needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, tool change requirements, depth and angle of cut on general manual machines.
  • Build fixtures to support parts needing modification, forming or assembly.
  • Basic knowledge of materials used in fabricating parts or fixtures (ferrous & non-ferrous)
  • Performs part checks/inspection of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools
  • Plan, layout and perform machining operations and surface grinding on tools, dies, patterns, models, etc. and related equipment used in the manufacturing process.
  • Perform highly skilled machining operations requiring unusual and difficult setups to maintain tolerances and fits
  • Fabricate, assemble, and maintain tools, dies and related accessories required to meet internal or customer requirements.
  • Complete processes of troubleshooting, debugging, and qualifying stamping dies. Working knowledge of die protection sensor
  • Support Maintenance personnel on Press repairs, general machine repairs, welding, and installation help.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of qualified training program for machining AND/OR minimum 2 years' experience in machining OR completion of technical program & 1 year experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of location listed in the job description

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of interpreting mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of measuring procedures, set ups, and interpreting results.
  • General Knowledge of mechanics and familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Tool & Die maintenance experience
