Eaton's CTO Corporate Technology Office division is currently seeking a Manager, Program Management Office - Eaton Research Laboratories. This hybrid role can be based out of Southfield MI, Golden CO, or Menomonee Falls WI.

Eaton Research Laboratories Program Management Office provides oversight, governance, and functional support for Eaton's $50M+ advanced research and innovation portfolios. This role ensures alignment with Eaton's strategic objectives by standardizing project management practices, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting regional teams in executing high-impact research programs. A key responsibility of this role is to manage the execution of all government-funded programs and support the development of competitive government proposals. Additionally, the they serve as the global subject matter expert (SME) for ERL's program management requirements within Eaton's enterprise-wide PM community.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141000.03 - $206800.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

• Team Leadership: Directly manage the ERL program management team, including staffing, performance reviews, coaching, and development.
• Government Program Management: Oversee the execution of all government-funded research programs, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
• Proposal Development Support: Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to support the development of government funding proposals, including timelines, resource planning, and documentation.
• Governance & Oversight: Establish and maintain project management frameworks, tools, and review cadences to ensure consistent execution across ERL's global research sites.
• Operational Rhythm: Coordinate monthly global project reviews and prepare executive-level updates, including CTO operational reviews and ERL scorecards.
• Functional Support: Provide coaching, training, and process guidance to regional project managers and principal investigators in US (Southfield (MI), Menomonee Falls (WI) or Golden (CO)), India (EIIC Pune), China (Shanghai), Europe (EEIC-Prague, and EEIC- Bonn)
• Tool Stewardship: Manage enhancements and training for Eaton's ProPM platform, ensuring effective adoption and continuous improvement.
• Data & Reporting: Oversee Power BI dashboard development and backlog management, enabling transparent reporting and performance tracking.
• Process Standardization: Maintain ERL's standard work documentation and ensure global consistency in project management practices.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the global research community and business stakeholders to support profit planning and portfolio alignment.
• Global SME Role: Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for program management requirements in Eaton's global PM committee, contributing to the evolution of enterprise-wide standards, tools, and best practices.
• Advance innovation lifecycle management by supporting the NTI process and its integration into ERL's portfolio.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Minimum seven (7) years of experience in program management, preferably within a research, technology, or innovation-driven environment
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory/leadership experience
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the locations listed above will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA
• 8-10+ years of experience in program management, preferably within a research, technology, or innovation-driven environment.
• Proven track record managing government-funded programs, developing proposals, and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in a global matrixed organization is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge:
• Government Program Execution: Strong understanding of federal contracting, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Proposal Development: Familiarity with government proposal processes, including WBS creation, cost estimation, and stakeholder alignment.
• Project Portfolio Management Tools: Proficiency in Clarity PPM by Broadcom, including portfolio planning, resource management, financial tracking, and reporting.
• Experience with Power BI for dashboarding and performance analytics.
• Program Management Frameworks: Deep expertise in lifecycle methodologies such as SAFE, AGILE, Design Thinking, Lean Startup. Eaton's ProLaunch for New Product Introduction & and New Technology Introduction (NTI).
