Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Operator - 1st Shift (Dept 01) to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $21.40 per hour.

The core hours are 6:30 am - 2:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What you'll do:

The General Machine Operator will be responsible for understanding various work processes and performing various sub-assembly roles within the General Machining Operations group. In your role, you will perform some complicated sub-assembly operations, usually limited to a specific standard procedure - on a repetitive basis. You will learn to set-up workstations to facilitate easier assembly and you will operate independently or on a group basis.

In this role, you will:

  • Gather materials and complete routed operation per work order instructions.
  • Perform work from specifications, and/or communicated instructions.
  • Perform machine setup activities.
  • Contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement.
  • Learn advanced machining principles, feed/speeds, and pressures.
  • Learn gauging methods and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
  • Learn cleaning specifications, surface finishes, and visual inspection procedures

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of Manufacturing experience.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience reading machining and/or process prints.
  • Minimum 2 years of Manufacturing and/or Assembly experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of reading Assembly prints
  • Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades.

Skills:

  • Ability to perform all processes at assigned work stations effectively in the General Machining Operations.
  • Ability to be flexible in a complex work environment.
  • Ability to perform in a team matrix environment.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
