Lead OPEX Engineer

Eaton's ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking a Lead OPEX Engineer.

What you'll do:

An Operation Technology / Automation Engineer within the Electrical Sector's Protection, Control and Solutions business. The primary objective of this role is to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing operations through the strategy deployment of industry 4.0 tools and technologies.The OT/Auto engineer's responsibilities span two key areas: first, the deployment of automation technologies such as robots, cobots, autonomous mobile robots and material handling solutions; second, the establishment of digital connectivity for the monitor the performance and health of manufacturing assets. Additionally, the engineer will actively contribute to the overall deployment of other Industry 4.0 technologies, driving initiatives related to augmented reality, factory simulation, process control and traceability, digital work instructions, and additive manufacturing. As a jet driving force, the OT/Auto engineer will lead efforts to ensure the successful implementation of these technologies and contribute significantly to the advancement of Eaton's manufacturing capabilities.The OT/Auto engineer will work across multiple plants within the 5 business units in PCS; PCD, ICD, Bussmann UL, LATAM and Canada operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration and manage project objectives and timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Plant Leadership, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities and Engineering.
• Work closely with Electrical Sector central resources and subject matter experts for guidance, deployment process, among others.
• Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities
• Work as liaison to divisional Digital Factory Engineer and Manufacturing leaders
• Align Industry 4.0 project objectives to each plant's continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities
• Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives
• Develop knowledge & expertise in the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the PCS business.Manage Industry 4.0 projects including automation, Digital core, IIoT, additive manufacturing, systems integration and manage project objectives and timelines.

Qualifications:

A. Bachelor's degree in engineering fields or related fields.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, automation and/or IT project development

Skills:

• Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros) and PBI
• Expertise in lean manufacturing & Six Sigma
• Knowledge of electronic systems, electric cabinets or wiring of hardware (motors, PLC's, sensors)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, assembly & test, as well as materials management and quality processes

Preferred:

• Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics
• Manufacturing system experience
• Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
• Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
• Ability to select and install PLC hardware and software
• Ability to operate and maintain PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Eaton)
• Demonstrated project management experience, including risk management & change management

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to communicate effectively and professionally across many organizational levels and functions and effectively build rapport with stakeholders
• Proven problem-solving capability
• Ability to act as an agent of change, driving and enabling process change
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Takes initiative to develop personally and professional and actively seeks ways to grow and be challenged
