The Centre for Intelligent Power, located at Eaton's global headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, is at the forefront of applying AI and data science to revolutionize how we manage and use power. We tackle today's toughest digital challenges while developing breakthrough technologies that will power the next generation of intelligent, sustainable products and services.

We're currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team on a Hybrid basis ( 3 days in the office).

What you'll do:

As a Lead DevOps Engineer within the Centre for Intelligent Power, you will apply advanced engineering principles and DevOps expertise to lead the development and scaling of AI platforms and infrastructure. You will drive multiple high-impact projects, mentor technical staff, and collaborate with global teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions. This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, leadership, and strategic thinking to influence product direction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines and observability frameworks to support high-quality, reliable deployments.
• Drive DevOps strategy across multiple AI projects, aligning with business goals and technical requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations to improve system resilience and performance.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across engineering teams and sites, promoting DevOps best practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions that meet real-world needs.
• Present technical updates and project status to senior leadership, including Directors of Engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of innovation, learning, and technical excellence.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and external trends into relevant projects.
• Generate intellectual property and contribute to publications that support business innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5-8+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering with demonstrated leadership in complex technical projects.

• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Azure Cloud provisioning, networking, and scaling.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Logging and monitoring infrastructure setup.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Strong command of Git and GitHub workflows.
• Containerization with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.

Skills:

• Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing requirements, trade-offs, and customer interactions.
• Greenbelt certified or equivalent experience in DFSS/Lean methodologies.
• Demonstrated creativity and innovation leadership in technical domains.
• Advanced problem-solving and process management capabilities.
