Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer
Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer. This is a Full-Time onsite role working Monday-Friday daylight hours.
The Grand Rapids facility has approximately 170 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of Aerospace actuations & controls components, systems, and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year.

What you'll do:
The Lead CI Engineer is responsible for driving a continuous improvement culture across a diverse manufacturing environment by utilizing lean methologies and best practices to improve the High 5 metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (Productivity) and Inventory).
In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for leading Rapid Improvement Events (RIE's) events, driving all ECIS (Eaton Continuous Improvement System) activity, and ECIS training throughout the facility.

The Lead CI Engineer is a key member of the plant team, reporting directly to the OPEX Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize the Eaton Lean Six Sigma system to improve the facilities overall performance, deploying Continuous Improvement principles and processes.
- Lead CI council for the site and drive sustainment to CI activities.
- Actively participate in High Performance Work Teams efforts including 8D and A3 corrective action teams, VSM activities, PFMEA teams, PROLaunch activities, strategic initiatives, etc.
- Manage the CI Event calendar to drive productivity improvements at the site.
- Engage the plant workforce and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Obtain LEAN tool certifications according to the functional roadmap.
- Assist in Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) and Operational Performance Assessment (OpA) Internal audits. Follow up on implementation plan with Operational Leaders to ensure proper execution.
- Assist in documenting manufacturing processes and modification of Standard work inlcuding implementation and use of hour by hour boards.
- Conduct and develop layered process audits, to include 5S and Standard Work audits throughout the facility.
- Assist in training employees on various LEAN tools.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills, including the ability to confidently present 1-3 slides during monthly all employee meetings and lead in-person training sessions. Must be comfortable engaging diverse audiences and communicating clearly across all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years utilizing lean tools in a manufacturing setting
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (49512) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service memebers are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
