Layout Technician -2nd Shift

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Layout Technician -2nd Shift at our Highland facility. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00PM to 11:00 PM. The rate for this position is $22.62 per hour plus an additional $.50 per hour shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Layout Technician role requires you to operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders, read and understand engineering drawings, perform quality checks, and use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.

In the function, you will:

• Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
• Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)

Safety & Quality Training necessary, but not limited to:

• Types of Mechanical Power Presses
• Safeguarding Requirements
• Trip Devices
• Press Inspections
• Die Setting
• Basic Operating Controls
• First Piece Quality Inspection
• In-process Quality Inspection
• Linknet training

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL will be considered. (Active-duty military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience reading blueprints
• Experience with calibration equipment such as calipers
• SAP experience
• Computer literacy

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move, position, and/or lift parts or boxes weighing from 10 to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.

• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
• Ability to be self- driven
