Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a J-Box Assembler.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform assembly, wire, fit and modification work involved in the assembly of junction boxes used for pole mounted racks and sub-station open air banks. Assemble using drawings, manufacturing information from Bill of Materials and work orders and electrical standards. Additional duties could be assigned performing assembly operations and crating and packing within the Final Assembly areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • All employees are expected to comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Assemble, adjust or repair using hand and air tools, jigs, fixtures, testing devices of assemblies and sub-assemblies of a repetitive and/or non-repetitive nature as required.
  • Fill out required documentation for QA, Production Control, and Engineering as required.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment. Perform wire operations as required.
  • May be necessary to communicate with support departments such as Supply Chain, QA and Engineering.
  • Inspect all assemblies for compliance and test as required.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments and development needs.
  • Work to manufacturing information, drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision and to established procedures and standards.
  • Work closely with other departments to assure that all specifications and quality standards are maintained.
  • Occasionally perform development work on non-repetitive units.
  • Identify special or non-standard conditions and notify different departments including supervision, drafting, and engineering.
  • Analyze manufacturing information and utilize this information to build to customer specifications.
  • Use material handling equipment to move product and supplies. May lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified or directed. Maintain a clean orderly and safe workplace.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

Qualifications Preference

  • Strong computer skills with SAP experience
  • Experience using shop math, test apparatus, hand and power tools, machine tool equipment, all types of material handling and lifting equipment, and other equipment required to perform the various job duties.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical clearances
  • 1 year of experience reading wiring schematics and diagrams, and blueprints.
