The hourly rate for this position is $27.00-$40.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

Eaton Research Labs (ERL) is currently seeking a Circuit Protection Design Engineer Intern to join our team at our Golden, CO facility. The intern requires to be onsite.

In this role you will:
• Generate a landscape study and assessment of fast-mechanical switch designs to support advanced circuit protection development.
• Produce a Bill of Material (BOM) for chosen fast-mechanical switch design and circuit protection device.
• Team with Master Drafter to create device early design package (e.g., electrical schematics, CAD).

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in a Master's or PhD degree program in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or related field from an accredited institution
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
• Strong electromechanical design experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
• No relocation will be provided. Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Golden, CO for the duration of the Internship Program.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years design experience for circuit protection and switching device development (i.e., fuses, contactors, hybrid circuit breaker, solid-state circuit breaker).
• Working knowledge of semiconductor switch technology.
• Experience using PCB design software Altium Designer and mechanical design software CREO and/or SolidWorks.
• Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and to analyze engineering problems, particularly focused on circuit protection and switch design.
