Eaton's AER Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Government Accounting Analyst. This role can be based in Davenport, IA, Orchard Park, NY OR Beachwood, OH.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:

Primary Function:

The Government Accounting Analyst will perform key government accounting and financial tasks for various sites focusing on government indirect bid and actual rate proposals development, calculation of the allowable HQ cost allocations, government compliance assessments of the sites' business systems, extensive variance analysis and external government and internal compliance audits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under management supervision, support the development of the compliant with FAR and CAS government indirect forward pricing, provisional billing and actual rates as applicable for various sites.
  • Perform extensive data reconciliation and cost trend analysis.
  • Monitor cost allowability and ensure that unallowable costs are properly identified, segregated, and removed from claimed costs in the government Forward Pricing Rates, annual Incurred Cost Submission proposals and billings.
  • Support internal and external government audits and inquiry matters. Maintain adequate audit related records and documentation.
  • Assist management with internal compliance self-assessments of the sites' accounting and Engineering Time keeping processes.
  • Support special transformation and process improvement projects.
  • Assist with work instructions development and periodic review and updates when applicable.
  • Ensure thorough understanding and adherence to relevant company policies and government regulations pertaining to the assigned scope of work.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution is required
  • Understanding of the fundamental reporting requirements of the US GAP or IFRS.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in financial reporting or planning (forecast, profit plan development etc.) and general accounting
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Beachwood, OH; Orchard Park, NY; Or Davenport, IA to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience, financial auditing, or project accounting experience
  • SAP experience
  • Strong excel skills

Skills:

Position Criteria:
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently within a matrixed organizational structure with a minimal level of supervision.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
• Proficient level of data analysis and accounting reconciliation skills.
• Working knowledge of advanced accounting and ERP systems (SAP and Oracle preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Applications.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (run macros, pivot tables, V lookups, perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
• As a plus:

    • Understanding of fundamental requirements of FAR Part 30 &31, is a plus.
    • Actual working experience with government contract billings, pricing bid rates, R&D project and manufacturing standard cost accounting.
