We are seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our Middle East R&D team in Dubai, UAE.
The position will be responsible for developing and testing embedded firmware for smart power system devices, suporting the full product lifecycle from design to maintenance.
What you'll do:
Bring in new ways/technologies in Firmware design and development of embedded Firmware.
Develop embedded software that meets features for power system intelligent electronic devices, including power system protection and control algorithms, using C and C++.
Develop test plans, test cases, assist in unit testing, peer reviews,integration and release.
Collaborate with EMEA embedded teams in the development, testing, and release of embedded Safety Systems or Power Control Components.
Follow cyber security guidelines and develop cyber secure software.
Follow the documentation and release methods per Eaton defined procedures.
Collaborate with product management and relevant stakeholders to understand the functional requirements and feedback throughout the product development lifecycle.
Assist lead firmware engineers in product sustenance, resolve customer reported issues and deliver product maintenance releases.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Computer Science.
Skills:
- Knowedge and basic programming experience with embedded C and C++. Experienced with Object Oriented Design (OOD) will be a plus.
- Understanding of real-time operating system (RTOS) concepts. Experienced in Embedded Linux will be an advantage.
- Aspiration to develop and progress career in embedded engineering.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good understanding of data flow between information systems.
- Skilled at conflict management, dealing with ambiguity and change management.
