Eaton's ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Field Application Engineer. This is a hybrid-based position and candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of the following locations to be considered for this position: Houston, TX; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX or Oklahoma City, OK. Relocation assistance will be offered for successful applicants who live outside these locations.

What you'll do:

Position Overview:
The primary function of the Field Application Engineer (AE) position requires a high level of technical and application expertise for all Eaton Power Systems Division (PSD) products and packaged solutions, including a working knowledge of product application, installations and electrical distribution systems. The AE is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with electrical consultants (power system designers) that serve the commercial-industrial & government marketplace. The AE must have expert application and product knowledge in electrical power distribution, power quality, power control and power reliability.

In this function you will:
• Establish and maintain a list of specifiers to target approvals and conversion of specifications to meet annual growth and development plans for assigned territory or products
• Plan collaboratively with the Regional C&I Sales Manager(s) to coordinate joint customer calls with C&I sales representatives to existing and new customer targets
• Develop methodologies and specification support materials in coordination with Product Marketing to conduct presentations and training for target specifiers, customers and Eaton PSD, C&I representatives, which include, but not limited to seminars, lunch & learns, conferences, hands-on instruction, job site visits, etc.
• Furnish technical and application support for C&I representatives as required with the primary objective of influencing specifications favorable to Eaton PSD
• Utilize the understanding of CPSD automation & integration capabilities to integrate products and solutions together to maximize Eaton PSD solution-based offerings to the C&I Market
• Guide development of marketing materials and assist in gathering voice of the customer (VOC) when required
• Advise as requested in the formulation, implementation and execution of C&I business strategies and Goal Deployment Action Plans (GDP) for penetrating new markets through the introduction of new products and the inclusion in broad based industry specifications
• Analyze opportunities & develops specification influencing actions for specific markets, products and systems identified in annual strategies to assure favorable or preferential treatment of Eaton PSD
• Recommend specification & competitive alternatives for specifications written around competitive products to position Eaton PSD products as functional equivalents
• Perform analysis and/or studies that solve customer problems or improve productivity with the application of targeted Eaton PSD product packages
• Perform product training when required to end-user, specifying or other constituents to facilitate the use, application and understanding of Eaton PSD products
• Support assigned product line as "Linked AE", which includes at a minimum, supporting the annual update of the Eaton Consulting Application Guide (CAG) sections and related Product Guide Spec (PSG) document and participation in the Product Line's strategic planning process

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry sales and/or electrical engineering experience
• Minimum five (5) years of application experience in medium or high voltage systems
• Possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) license
• Experience with specific application of capacitors, transformers and switchgear to industrial or utility systems, as well as communication and SCADA systems knowledge and use

• Possess excellent communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Motivational skills to work with a wide array of electrical engineering firms, end-users or other decision makers and all levels of buying influences.
• Highly motivated to influence specifications to include or require the use of Eaton Power Systems Division equipment and services
• Capability to travel extensively within North America to accomplish the goals and objectives of this position
• Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office), as well as engineering-based software packages common to the industry
• Ability to travel up to 50%

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $120,000 - $176,000.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
