Eaton's EPG CHD HQ division is currently seeking a ETO Application Engineer. This is a hybrid role based out of either our Houston, TX or Syracuse, NY facility. Relocation is not provided for this opportunity.
This position is primarily responsible for quoting and supporting custom Engineered-to-Order (ETO) solutions for the NEC market, for products primarily used within harsh, hazardous, and industrial applications. This includes reviewing RFQs, preparing ETO quotes, interfacing with the ETO Engineering team, and providing custom product recommendations to Sales and Distributors.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you'll do:
This role is also responsible managing the ETO Inbox and Quotation Log, level-loading allocation of new/revised RFQ's amongst available resources to maximize service levels and team efficiency.
In this role you will:
- Review and quote customer RFQs for NEC product families.
- Implement and effectively coordinate the quote and engineering lead-time requirements.
- Prepare pricing and proposals for special products within assigned product families, as requested by Sales and Distributors.
- Assist with preliminary drawings and customer reference material/specifications, as required.
- Review and recommend changes in ETO products and pricing, based on Customer and Sales feedback, for ETO PLM and Engineering review.
- Assist in maintaining quality and efficiency through each stage of the quotation lifecycle (Order Entry, Approval Drawings, Customer Feedback, and Production).
- Assist in continuous process improvement, for the ETO Quotation and Engineering teams.
- Create templates and reference material, to increase team efficiency.
- Manage team Inbox and Quotation Log, level-loading allocation of new/revised RFQ's amongst available resources to maximize service levels and team efficiency.
- Assist PLM in maintaining and reporting team metrics, quotation log, and active orders/drawings.
- Assist in researching and resolving ETO product inconsistencies, arising from manufacturing and engineering inquiries, changes in vendor supplies, and customer complaints.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university, or relevant Engineering Technology diploma
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience with technical products, in a Sales, Marketing, or Engineering capacity.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience reading electrical schematics.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY OR Houston, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineering Technologist (electrical strongly preferred)
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent) and 2D AutoCAD (Electrical strongly preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of harsh and hazardous electrical products market, and associated codes & standards
- Experience with preparation of custom (ETO) product quotations / technical proposals.
- Experience with Capacity planning & level-loading of technical resources would be considered an asset.
