Eaton Corporate is hiring an Ethics and Compliance Counsel-India, South Asia and Pacific in Pune, India.
What you'll do:
The India, South Asia and Pacific Ethics and Compliance Counsel is responsible for providing strategic regional leadership in the deployment of Eaton's ethics & compliance program, leading some aspects of Eaton Compliance programs, for independently leading (complex) investigations, providing recommendations to regional leaders, and for designing and providing compliance program items, training and communications that support Eaton Ethics and Compliance Strategy and maintain or reinforce a culture of compliance.
The incumbent will:
- Carry out all ethics and compliance responsibilities delegated to the position by the Vice President and Chief Counsel, Ethics & Compliance - EMEA APAC and the Senior Vice President, Ethics & Compliance; Support the Vice President and Chief Counsel Ethics and Compliance EMEA - APAC in developing and implementing appropriate methods of enhancing employee awareness of the ethics and compliance program.
- Oversee and independently manages investigations of ethics matters. Effectively collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve (also complex) matters, where fundamental principles do not clearly apply and where data appears to conflict. Manage, supervise and/ train co-investigators.
- Act as a resource to employees and leaders for inquiries regarding ethics and compliance. Make critical evaluations of inquiries or matters as to the potential impact and ensure that all matters are referred to the appropriate resources within the Company.
- Manage the POSH project in supporting all Indian sites in investigation and reporting excellence, in promoting a culture of trust and respect, and ensuring national reporting in line with the design of the project.
- Whilst operating will little supervision, oversee countries or region, defining the specific program applicable to these, frequently developing new concepts and solutions.
- Convey complex information, develops communication strategies, and persuades significantly diverse audiences. Reconcile multiple stakeholder perspectives to resolve conflicts
- Manage the region's Ethics Ambassadors program.
- Travel to sales, production and corporate sites from time to time, attend sales and operations conferences to speak about ethics and ensure tone at the top.
- Develop strategy or serve as point of contact and coordinate with the Ethics Office in effectively communicating ethics and compliance policies, procedures and practices to employees through publications, training and education programs.
- Act as the day-to-day lead for ethics and compliance and act as a business partner on all matters related to ethics and compliance.
- Prepare and in some cases presentation of materials for senior management, prepare periodic reports and evaluations on the compliance and ethics program.

Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of relevant experience; experience in an ethics, compliance and legal department in APAC, ideally with a large international multi-cultural business.
- Legal qualification from an Asian jurisdiction - attorney of law required. Civil or business law qualified lawyer, with significant experience in Asia required. Any additional qualification, ideally Asia, eventually international, is a plus
- Minimum of one Indian or APAC language in addition to English a plus.
