We are currently seeking an Enterprise Architect - Research & Development/Engineering to join our global Corporate IT team. The preferred location for this position is our corporate office in Beachwood, OH, but could also be based at one of our major IT hubs in the US, including Moon Township, PA, Raleigh, NC, Menomonee Falls, WI, Galesburg, MI, or Houston, TX. Up to 10% travel is expected. Candidates must be within 50 miles of these locations as relocation assistance is not available.

At Eaton, you will help transform the use of technology to achieve business goals as a skilled Business Architect. You will understand business processes, enterprise architecture, and IT strategy formulation. Your role will define architecture strategy and drive business outcomes by partnering with stakeholders in the R&D/Engineering organization.

What you'll do:

Your focus will be on providing the architecture framework for global R&D/Engineering functions, guiding the design, deployment, and operations of IT solutions and programs. Additionally, as part of the Enterprise architecture team, you will establish standards, guidelines, architecture patterns, and reusable assets to improve productivity and mitigate risks.

In the federated architecture space, your responsibilities will include leading and coordinating the federated practice, recommending strategic architecture directions, and developing architecture policies and standards. You will provide architectural leadership and guidance, teach desired architectural behaviors, ensure investments align with principles and standards, vet technology roadmap changes, and participate in strategic forums and review boards.

Additionally, you will provide architecture leadership for Eaton's R&D/Engineering and IT product groups, partner with stakeholders to define next-generation engineering architecture, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and performant. As an enterprise architect, you will align with overall strategy, build organizational capabilities, establish implementation standards, and expedite decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan for future-state technology portfolios and IT program investments
• Drive the application of emerging technologies to current Eaton environments
• Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment and facilitate technical solution delivery.
• Hold accountability for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality.
• Work within Eaton's IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment.
• Establish yourself as a key domain technical leader at Enterprise level

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 10 years of progressive, professional IT experience using multiple technology platforms
• Minimum 5 years in IT Architecture (Systems and Solution Architecture)
• IT Architecture experience supporting engineering/R&D within a product-based engineering or manufacturing company

Preferred:
• Expertise in the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise-wide applications
• Minimum 3 years working with R&D/Engineering tools (for example Enovia/AutoCad)
• Experience and knowledge of digital thread across Product Development (Engineering), Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting cohesive frameworks that align business strategies with operational needs.
• Experience within a matrixed, multinational manufacturing company

Skills:

• Deep understanding of business processes and R&D/Engineering capabilities.
• Strong understanding of ERP (SAP, Oracle EBS), PLM (Enovia), MES (Apriso)
• Good understanding of data and interoperability / application integration / event driven integration.
• Experience successfully delivering on all aspects of an enterprise-wide, global project
• Subject matter expert on architecture
• Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal).
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities. Experience interacting at the executive level and influencing leadership and key stakeholders on technology solutions.
• Strong analytical skills to conduct thorough analysis of end to end business process and systems. Ability to present to executives.
• Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
• Experience in driving transformation initiatives and being innovative.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141000.03 - $206800.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
