Engineer - Mechanical
What you'll do:
Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer - Mission Systems Division (MSD) in the Aerospace Business. This position will be based in Pune, India.
The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop Aerospace MSD (Mission System Division) Products to meet product requirements including safety, reliability, and conformance to standards
- The candidate in this position is responsible for the successful leading and execution of a wide range of Aerospace Mission Systems related projects, including New Product Introduction, VAVE, B&P, and Sustaining Engineering, while driving continuous improvement to meet project KPIs (Focus 5, NPI Efficacy), and ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction.
- Perform detailed design engineering using CAD platforms such as Creo 7.0, AutoCAD, Catia V5 etc.
- Perform drawing quality check for the drawings prepared by local as well as global engineering team.
- Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concepts.
- Should have proficiency in mechanical and pneumatic design & drafting (CAD tools), GD&T & statistical tolerancing.
- Working knowledge of overall design engineering processes encompassing "Design - Qualification - Product Launch" is required.
- Candidate should have proficiency in preparing and managing schedules, risk management; good communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written with an ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and global stakeholders.
- Candidate should have experience and know-how in developing business proposals handling RFI/RFP/RFQ process by providing engineering inputs to customer inquiries, creating solutions and estimating materials, testing costs, and Engineering NRE for Aerospace products/programs
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concept and work with external vendors/suppliers.
Qualifications:
Master's degree - 2-3 years or Bachelor's degree - 4 to 6 years experience in product design & development in Aerospace industry.
Skills:
NPI / NPD, DfX tools, Pneumatic design, 3D modeling and drawings, GD&T, Tolerance stackup, Engineering design calculations, Risk analysis & assessment (DFMEA)
