What you'll do:
As the EMEA Statutory COE Portfolio Manager (centre of expertise) you will cover all statutory and audit activities, tax relating to statutory activities, technical accounting and governmental and other reporting.
The COE is part of the overall EMEA finance transformation project and is a key enabler for delivering statutory and audit activity across the region. The COE covers all Eaton businesses (currently 5 zones, 50 countries) and divisions.
The EMEA Statutory Portfolio Manager is the ultimate owner & responsible for delivering the statutory financial statements and audit on a portfolio of entities across several jurisdictions. The role interacts with many stakeholders including Eaton centralized audit owners, corporate technical accounting, tax, business leaders, zone controllers and EY and other third party auditors.
- at transition stage be responsible for reviewing current workbooks & standardizing G2S adjustments to best practice that will be set out
- directly manage the second location support team that will prepare the standard workbooks & TR financial statements & will manage and deliver data requests
- be responsible for documentation of all processes, preparation of SOPs and standard policies (in alignment with EMEA Statutory Technical Manager)
- work with support team to deliver the financial statements & audit to compliance deadlines
- resolve audit issues with local EY partners & raise to senior management as needed
- work with Eaton centralized audit teams and manage queries, ensuring pre-clearance memos are completed in a timely manner
- manage knowledge transfer of second location team and ensure skilled up for holiday & other cover
- identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and centralization in respect of the statutory process
- support projects that are focused on centralizing audit activity
- support projects focused on entity and ledger rationalization
- build and maintain excellent relationship on the audit with EY and other third party auditors
- identify and implement technological and digital solutions where possible
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a must
- Finance degree or related qualification
- 7+ years' experience in Statutory and Audit experience a must, experienced in managing a portfolio of legal entities
Skills:
- Strong technical accounting experience
- Experience in managing activity within a COE structure
- Experience working with 3rd party auditors across regions and countries
- Multi-national and multi-cultural experience essential
- Lean or Six sigma experience
- Strong System Knowledge (Oracle/SAP)
- Strong influencing skills
- Change management and process improvement mindset
