EHS Technician - 1st shift
Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a EHS Technician - 1st shift to join our team.
The hourly rate for this position is $17.85 per hour.

What you'll do:
This position supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site under the direction of the EHS Manager and/ or EHS Lead Analyst. Incumbent is accountable for leading and supporting EHS activities at his/her location including: maintaining EHS systems and processes such as monitoring and measuring systems, becoming trained and executing duties related to reporting regulatory information, reporting and communicating EHS metrics, collecting and organizing EHS action items, leading/supporting EHS training initiatives, leading and supporting EHS teams comprised of non-EHS employees, leading / supporting incident investigations, supporting site internal risk and performance assessment activities.
In this function you will:
List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above:
a. Assist EHS Manager and Analyst to implement MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and utilize MESH tools to drive local improvements.
b. Conduct workstation risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
c. Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
d. Support tracking and accomplishment of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
e. As a Subject Matter Expert, support MESH Element Champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
f. Support and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
g. Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
h. Work with EHS Manager and MESH Element Champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS federal, state, and local regulations.
i. Support efforts for third-party recognition for programs that establish the Site's and Eaton's EHS program to world-class level.
j Provide support using established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism to enter and manage data.
k Create training matrices and leads training sessions to ensure that assigned training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan.
l. Support efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
m. Complete training and execute duties as assigned to ensure site compliance to various regulatory requirements, such as Waste Management regulations.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

• No relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Fayetteville, NC facility will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Manufacturing experience
• Experience coordinating and leading training, making presentations and talking in front of groups.
• Training related to Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Previous experience leading projects related to Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Associate degree two (2) or progression towards four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or technical field.
Position Criteria:
• Use of MS Office Software to update progress on initiatives and track completion of training.
• Use MESH Prism for internal reporting of MESH data and for future analysis.
• Able to communicate to a wide audience EHS related topics and facilitate cross functional teams.
• Work independently to carry out MESH requirements and problem solve as needed.
• Communicate Eaton MESH processes, tools and policies.
• Understand industry, state and county EHS requirements.
• Complete required training and execute duties related to regulatory compliance activities in the plant.
• Flexible shift hours working with multiple shifts.

• Actively participate in required health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
• Pro-actively provide improvement suggestions for the health and safety programs.
• Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements consistent with specific assignments.
