Eaton's Electrical NA is hiring a Director, Strategic Pricing in Cleveland. (OPTIONAL: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, or other major Eaton offices.) This position requires 10% travel.
What you'll do:
The Strategic Pricing Director is responsible for driving pricing excellence and increased profit realization in the Electrical Sector in NA. This individual will guide the development, refinement and implementation of pricing strategies, processes and tools, and drive the adoption of value-based pricing practices through channels and to direct customers. The main areas of activities will be refining and adapting pricing models best suited for our different business units and driving best practices throughout the organization as well as building and continuously upgrading the skillset and maturity of pricing resources across ES NA.

Key Responsibilities
- Drives to a model of recognized pricing excellence. Responsible for the model to support value pricing deployment throughout ES NA, including Price setting, Price control, Price realization and Price optimization strategy, processes and tools.
- Drives the adoption of pricing best practices across the entire ES NA organization including establishing and directing ES NA Pricing Council.
- Ensures availability of functional competence, standard SPQs, competence evaluation and project-based development plans to remedy competence gaps.
- Works with IT to ensure the creation, maintenance and deployment of all tools required to support standard pricing processes throughout the region, including price list maintenance tools, price control systems in ERPs and analytics tools used for price realization and optimization.
- Owns price realization target, coordination of the creation and implementation of the plan, and the cadence of follow-up and take corrective actions.
- Assists BUs in the creation of MSRP and IMAP price lists, channel pricing strategy, discount matrixes and escalations processes as well as target prices.
- Lead Distributor Advisory Council pricing sub-group and drive initiative to improve Ease of Doing Business with Eaton's channel partners.
- Drive the adoption of pricing analytics and dashboards that improve decision making and profit realization.
- Is the go-to resource for product lines when devising new product pricing strategies
- Supervise the manager of the CPRO team and establish a culture of continuous improvement and develop pricing knowledge of team members.
- Supervise the Strategic Pricing Manager, direct their activities in support of Sector pricing goals and develop their advanced pricing and leadership skills.
- Functional supervision of NA division pricing managers (ICD, PCD, Bussmann, CRDS, PSD, Canada, LAM, EESS, PQ). With their direct line supervisors, set goals for pricing functional excellence and support their development in pricing and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing in analytical roles.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business. MBA preferred.
- Experience in driving change management projects. International business experience and highly developed cross-cultural awareness required.

- Expertise in Value Pricing as well as extensive knowledge of sales and marketing practices in all areas: Market & Customer Knowledge, Value Proposition Design and Sales Strategy & Management.
- Experience in price management, resulting in excellent command of pricing methods and tools, setting value-based prices based on market, competition and own product/service differentiation, understanding of customer price sensitivity, and knowledge in portfolio and customer price analysis.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills are essential, being able to synthesize large quantities of information, draw insights and consolidate market data for managerial review .
- IT skills: knowledge of ERP and various IT systems to be able to perform data collection and analytics.
- Communication skills: Advanced communications skills, being able to interact with all levels of the organization as well as cross functional. Advanced presentation and facilitation skills preferred.
- Leadership skills: Proven management skills, taking initiative and influencing decisions through others. Ability to gain cross group support for strategy and processes.
