As a Configuration Engineer you will be providing support to the engineering department and liaise with other company departments, as required, coordinating all aspects of controlled documentations in line with company procedures and producing engineering drawings from outline specifications in accordance with requirements given by engineering team. Also you will be amending technical drawings and specifications using configuration / change management tool and supporting the implementation of New Product Development (NPD) projects, Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) projects and sustaining legacy products.

What you'll do:

  • Leading the application of Configuration Management best practice using the Enovia PLM tool, revising and adapting processes and procedures as required.
  • Promoting and adapting 'best practice' engineering to support design and manufacturing.
  • Creating and maintaining models / drawings of proposed designs, either 2D or 3D, using CAD software.
  • Maintaining a well-organized CAD library, ensuring proper naming conventions and revision control.
  • Ensuring that the quality processes and procedures defined in Eaton Quality Management System are met and maintained.
  • Integrating and participating with the project teams to ensure high team performance.
  • Aiding with ad-hoc tasks with management and technical leads.
  • Preparing drawings for new products.
  • Managing design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
  • Ensuring self-development under the guidance of the Chief Mechanical Engineer.
  • Contributing, being involved and actively supporting the continuous improvement process within every facet of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient user of PLM systems with a strong understanding of the underlying principles
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering design environment
  • Being able to demonstrate both independent and collaborative working.
  • Drawing Office key design disciplines in configuration management, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, test procedure drawings, product label drawings
  • Use of CAD in a drawing office

Skills:

  • Communications (verbal and written)
  • excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Accreditation to CM2(CMII) Configuration Management is highly desirable.
