Eaton's ES AMER PCS CA division is currently seeking a Commercial Project Manager. This position can be based in our Milton, ON or Burlington, ON offices. Candidates must reside within 80km of Milton, ON or Burlington, ON.

Position Overview:

The Project Cost/Commercial Manager is responsible for the financial and commercial health of projects managed by the Project Operations Team. The Project Cost/Commercial Manager will use and where necessary development management tools and techniques to support the execution of projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications, manages $3 to $10 million in projects per fiscal year. Modernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with specific focus on industrial power systems, hydro-electric generation, and renewable power.

The Project Cost/Commercial Manager is responsible for project cost tracking, ongoing project budget validation, support for project schedule development/maintenance, creation of purchase requisitions, material and equipment tracking, subcontractor/vendor requests for pricing, submittal generation/oversight, document control, and warranty support. The Project Cost/Commercial Manager is also responsible for the revenue recognition process.

In this function you will:

• Uses knowledge of Project Management principals, creates clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion.
• With Support from the Financial Coordinator will maintain the project financials including invoicing, forecasting, sales recognition, cost control, managing backlog and purchasing.
o Prepares monthly project invoicing in accordance with contract billing milestones or progress payment structures,
o Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin.
o Reviews project schedules and develops cost schedule for input into Revenue Recognition forecast.
o Ensures compliance with SOX principals and established Revenue Recognition protocols,
o Prepares, maintains and updates monthly Revenue Recognition forecast and review with Director of Project Operations,
o Monitors Revenue Recognition performance to forecast throughout the month and provides input to the mid-month update,
o With input from the Project Manager, assumes responsibility to establish and manage the contract(s) between Eaton and its vendors & subcontractors,
• Provides support to the Project Manager to plan, establish, maintain, and regularly update the project schedules,
• Function as the liaison between the Project Manager and Eaton's Contracts Department to identify project contract risks. Develop a Project Risk Log and monitor adherence to project mitigation measures through the life of the project.
• Provide support and leadership in development and maintenance of Operational Excellence tools and processes including standard tools, Quality Assurance / Quality Control manuals and continuous improvement methodologies.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in a technical discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working in project management,
• Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship,
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office software elements including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint,
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license,
• Reside within 80km of Milton, ON or Burlington, ON.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional certification
• Experience with ERP systems including Oracle or SAP
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience
• Understanding of Revenue Recognition and SOX rules and requirements
• Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud tools including OneDrive, SharePoint, MS Teams, and OneNote
• Ability to write and edit Visual Basic code
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
