Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Certified Plating Operator.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.92 per hour.

The first shift hours are as follows; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

What you'll do:

The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton's Aerospace Group has an opening for a Plating Operator. This position is based in Euclid, OH.

The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Position Overview:

• Set-up, maintain and operate various electroplate equipment to plate a variety of production parts and tooling to required thicknesses in specified areas.

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program.
• Provide assistance to other operators on proper operational procedures.
• Perform 5S and other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions:

• Operate plating processes including but not limited to anodize, chrome, nickel, acid etch, passivate, electroless nickel, etc.
• Follow verbal and written Engineering and Quality Control instructions as contained in process procedures, metal finishing sheets, blueprints, operating in a specified and quality manner.
• Maintain attentiveness to process details and equipment. Timers, temperature controllers and indicators, rectifier amp and volt meters, and other associated equipment must be set-up and adhered to.
• Complete processes of fixturing/racking, masking and stop-off (tape, lacquer, etc), surface activation; use of periodic reverse current; the use of bleeders to obtain uniform plating on irregular shaped parts; the use of filters, pumps, and agitators/mixers.
• Build/repair the fixtures as necessary.
• Perform pre- and post- processing tasks including, but not limited to, degreasing, cleaning, blasting, scrubbing, visual and dimensional inspection, baking and oiling.
• Make up chemical solutions, condition plating tanks, clean anode and cathode bars, strip racks, change filters, and perform certain equipment maintenance.
• Perform part marking, shipping identification and paperwork.
• Use various measuring tools and gages such as dial bore, indicator, snap, and go no-go gage, micrometers, calipers, scales, and plating thickness instruments to measure part and test panels.
• Maintain all required logs, documents, and records as required by the certified operator program.
• Must chart and plot data per SPC requirement.
• Move material within the cell.
• Perform minor machine maintenance.
• Perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the supervisor.
• Burr work internal to the cycle as needed.
• Apply coatings to specified thicknesses on products processed through plating; use appropriate gages and other measuring/testing equipment to certify coating thickness meets specifications.
• Receive and sign for incoming plating material and supplies.
• Load and unload shipments associated with plating, using hand trucks, tow motors, and other powered material handling equipment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum one (4) years of plating operations experience will be accepted in lieu of a high school diploma/GED.
• Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing experience within an environment that required handling hazardous materials.
• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Position Criteria:

• Complete an Eaton approved training program within 120 days.
• Become a Certified Operator within 40 days of becoming active on the code.
• Pass an Eaton vision test.
• Demonstrate familiarity with or the ability to comprehend and master masking, rectifiers, racking and the use of applicable chemical solutions, including plating concepts and principles.
