Our procurement team based in our manufacturing plant in Sutton-In-Ashfield is dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced - and we're looking for a motivated Buyer to join our team on a 12 months maternity leave cover.
What you'll do:
You'll be joining a close-knit team of planners and buyers, supporting strategic procurement and planning activities in a make-to-order manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a role that blends operational and strategic procurement responsibilities.

- Raise and manage purchase orders in line with MRP, ensuring timely supplier acknowledgements and on-time delivery.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to support production while minimizing excess inventory.
- Resolve invoice queries promptly and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor supplier performance, manage NCRs, and ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Support sourcing activities including RFIs/RFPs and contribute to commercial improvement initiatives.
- Assist with new part introductions and collaborate on cross-functional planning within the supply chain.
- Provide purchasing data and insights to support business decisions and stakeholder communication.
- Lead or support specific procurement projects and supplier negotiations, maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
• Previous buying experience (ideally in manufacturing, but not essential)
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
