Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Brake Operator. Eaton's Edmonton Power Centre (EPC) is our Canadian Manufacturing Facility that specializes in custom configurations of low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage motor control centres, and coordination centre for our Integrated Power Centre (E-House) offering. EPC creates custom product configurations, designs transition sections to replace outdated equipment, configures solutions for retrofit challenges, and manufactures unique front-access low and medium voltage switchgear solutions.
What you'll do:
Are you enthusiastic about manufacturing? Have you had experience using brake press? Reporting to the Production coordinator on the night shift this position is responsible for the manual and automated operation of the large bending brakes to perform one of the fabrication operations necessary in producing parts for production. This position works closely with our Electrical and Mechanical teams to optimize workflow.

If so, we want you to join our team as a: Brake press operator. This position will be on-site based out of the Edmonton Power Centre, in Edmonton, Alberta.
**Please note that this is a Monday through Thursday position working from 3:30 pm to 2 am. The shifts will be 10-hour shifts and eligible for overtime after the 10th hour. There will be a $1 dollar per hour shift premium assigned for this rotation. Training will initially be provided on the day shift for 2-4 weeks at the commencement of employment (Monday to Friday from 7am to 330 pm).

What will you do?
- Safe Machine operations: in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety rules and using all safety guards provided and adhere to ISO9001:2015/EQS quality procedure/work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process.
- Health, Safety and Environmental orientation: Maintain a positive commitment to the prevention of pollution and protection of the environment fulfilling environmental health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the MESH program. Maintain a positive commitment to the safety of self and others identifying and reporting any hazard(s) in the workplace using the Hazard Identification Form; reporting any near misses, incidents, injuries, events resulting in lost-time, or occupational diseases immediately; using equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized, and for which training has been successfully completed; following procedures and wearing personal protective equipment as required
- Continuous improvement and Quality mindset: Function as a positive role model and support change and actively participating in the implementation of the ELSS tools, working unscheduled hours as required, providing guidance, and/or mentoring to less experienced co-workers. Participate in the Cost Improvement Program looking for, discussing, and recommending better ways to do things.
Qualifications:
What will make you successful?
- The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of brake press machinery and how to use computers and systems in a manufacturing context. The candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor to troubleshoot issues and implement new processes where required.
- A good verbal and written communicator with experience in computers and various types of software is required.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Completion of High School or GED equivalent is required at a minimum.
• 2 Plus years of knowledge of brake press or machine operations/change parameters/bend sequence
• Knowledge of machine tooling
• Ability to read blueprints, bending drawings and layout drawings
• Be legally authorized to work in Canada without the sponsorship of a company.
• Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Edmonton will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.
Preferred qualifications:
• Forklift/overhead crane certification considered an asset.
